Dr. Piotr Arak is the Chief Economist of VeloBank and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw. He is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council and a member of the board of the Brussels-based think tank European Roundtable on Climate Change and Sustainable Transition (ERCST). He has over a decade of experience in economic analysis and has worked for various institutions, including the consulting firm Deloitte, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the analytical center Polityka Insight, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland, and the Ministry of Administration and Digitization. He is a co-founder of the Polish Economic Institute, where he served as Director from 2018 to 2023. He studied at the University of Warsaw, the Warsaw School of Economics, Université du Québec à Montréal, and Harvard Kennedy School.
